DRUGS AND CRIME
INTRODUCTION
This is an honest look at
the major problem of hard drugs and the crime related to the use of these drugs
in the United States. I have studied and seek here to expose the mindset that
brings the trauma of the drug problem into every home in this country. I am
offering us a solution, which is the first clear, rational, and down-to-earth
explanation presented to us in recent years. (Written 1989)
I will explain why these
drugs are such a strong stimulus to people and offer a plan to combat the
spread of drug related problems and show how to quickly reduce the crime
associated with these hard drugs.
Those who have children or
spouses trapped in the vicious cycle of drugs will wish to read this information
as will those who wish to do something about the problem in their own
communities and states.
I do not claim it will be
easy. But this plan does show how it can be and will be successful. It will
bring social and financial relief to this country. It will also bring tax
relief to all. This plan will be opposed by those who are getting rich
(directly and indirectly) off of the drug trade. Many of these social parasites
living off of the profits of the drug trade are politicians, bankers, ministers
and your local business men. Those who think "compromise" is a dirty
word will also oppose it.
Many people will have to
change their minds about how to deal with these hard drug problems if this
solution is to have any impact on crime and on the average citizen of this
country. The facts presented here will open the eyes of many who have only
thought about the problem in light of the propaganda forced on them by those
people who have a vested interest in the drug problem. And No One has a
greater vested interest in the hard drug trade than those who make their living
fighting the Drug War (including our government and our religions).
As I will point out, the
alternative to this solution is and will be continued and accelerating disaster
and chaos. By pursuing more of the same present policy of throwing billions of
dollars at the drug problem, we end up playing into the hands of both the
criminals and the politicians. We must take our own action.
SO LET US EXAMINE THE
RELATIONSHIP OF DRUGS AND CRIME
Possibly few things concern
Americans more today than crime. There are crimes against one's person and
crimes against one's property. There are crimes against one's children and
crimes against one's group or society. Then there are crimes against our
future. Maybe the worse crimes of all are those that are legal but which are
highly immoral and that destroy our future and that of our children and grand
children.
Crimes are committed by the
lowest elements of our society and by the highest strata of our society. The
grungy guy who takes your car, your money or your property is the social
scapegoat for our concept of crime. But, there are other criminals who hurt us
far worse than the loss of a car or some money. There are criminals in this
country who dress in suits, go to church on Sunday, run for elective office
(and win), speak high sounding phrases in front of gullible listeners and they
call themselves "good" and "Godly." Please deliver us from
these good, godly predators! We cannot stand much more of it. These "good"
people are stealing our freedoms, our future and our pursuit of happiness. And
worst of all, they are stealing our HOPE for our future and that of our kids.
To study crime, one must
separate the two major aspects of criminal activity and study them separately.
The crimes at the low end of the social ladder we will call common crime. The
crime at the upper end of society we will call white-collar crime. We are
forced to call some of these people, legal criminals, because they make
and lobby for "laws," which they and their backers want passed. These
"laws" that bring personal benefits to their particular group,
friends or business, also brings hardship and frustration to the rest of us.
You and I must follow and obey these "laws" in order that the pockets
of their backers may be lined with money (mine and yours).
If you talk to any law
enforcement agent, you will ultimately ask the question, "What causes most
of the common crime in Atlanta (or New York, Chicago, Los Angles, Dallas or
your city)." The answer will be DRUGS. If you ask, what percent is caused
by drugs, you will receive answers ranging from seventy-five percent up to
eighty-five or so percent.
What makes these drugs such
a criminal stimulus?
Let's do some supposing.
Suppose a whole pound of cocaine cost the same price as a pound of sugar does
today. Let us further suppose, a pound of sugar cost what a pound of cocaine
cost today. What would the criminal element be selling on the street corner?
Sugar or cocaine? How long would it be before sugar factories were being built
(and raided and blown up)? How long before kids were being given little packets
of sugar, free or very cheap? How long before there would be sugar parties
among the rich?
How long would it be before
sugar was classified as illegal by most states? How long would it be before
sugar was sold by prescription? How long would it be before big money was being
invested in sugar plantations in South America by banks, various investment
funds and individuals with lots of money? How long would it be before sugar
wars broke out in our cities and overseas? How long would it be before law
enforcement agents would say, "Sugar causes seventy-five percent of the
crime in our cities?
The answer to these
questions is, NOT LONG!
The Clear Thinker says,
"If you take the money out of drugs, you take seventy-five percent
of the crime out of our country side and out of our cities." Think about
it!
Most people will say,
"All right! Let's do it! How do we start?"
Before answering the
question "How can we do it?" we need to dig a little deeper into the
problem and the mind set that causes the problem.
What, for instance, makes
one drug illegal and one legal? That is done by the magic wave of a ballpoint
pen. A few signatures on a piece of paper and lo and behold, a drug is illegal.
By the stroke of a pen, a legal business becomes a criminal business. Something
that cost a dollar before the stroke of that pen, now becomes worth two hundred
dollars after the stroke of that pen. There are tens of thousands of people who
just love the stroke of that ballpoint pen. It means billions in their
collective pockets. Those who sell it and those who fight it are delighted!
Now, we must ask ourselves,
who lobbied to make the commodity illegal? Who is going to benefit? Look at the
drug alcohol for a moment. Alcohol was legal in this country, then, it was
illegal. Then, it was legal again. Why the confusion? Did alcohol change its
spots?
First, there are those in
our society who Believe they have a revelation from the Almighty God that
instructs them that they are to be the moral and ethical conscious of this
nation and indeed of the world. They believe they have a Divine insight, a
Divine moral code, and a Divine responsibility, which makes them the judge,
jury and executioner of the actions, activities and thoughts of all mankind.
Second, because these people
are unable to see the wrong and harm, which THEY do to society, they hunt for
an enemy outside of themselves. Thus, in the past, they selected "John
Barley Corn" (alcohol) as their enemy.
Third, they divided up the
world into two parts, God's side and the Devil's side, the good side and the
bad side, the right side and the wrong side.
Fourth, anyone who disagrees
with them is on the Devil's side, the bad side and the wrong side.
Thus, through out history,
these same people who gave us a flat earth, the dark ages and the Inquisition
have sought to prevail by intimidation, persecution, passing and enforcing
immoral and unjust laws, belittling and berating their selected enemies and
putting pressure on the governments of the world to force their private
religious will and inhumane ethics on the rest of us.
So, in the early nineteen
hundreds, they selected alcohol as the enemy. Who were their allies in their
efforts to make alcohol illegal? Every criminal organization in the United
States made donations, lobbied and advertised for their cause. These criminals
lobbied and worked with the believers. Anyone who had money invested in whisky
distilleries in Canada, Cuba or Europe, joined in. Bootleggers, (or those who
wanted to be) joined in. The criminals even furnished free protection to the women crusaders
and these criminals became their police force to protect these prohibitionist
from those who opposed prohibition. As they paraded and spoke, they were surrounded and protected by volunteers
from the businessmen and criminals who delighted in their progress.
Guess who also poured
millions and millions of dollars into the effort, THE DRUG COMPANIES! Surprised?
They still do. You see the drug companies cannot patent alcohol (or marijuana).
Instead, they produce very, very expensive drugs that are supposed to do a
little bit of what alcohol (or marijuana) will do. These natural products only
cost a few dollars even at the present inflated prices. So, the big drug
companies joined the believers and the criminals (if there is any difference).
Big drug companies helped to lobby and fight for making alcohol and later,
marijuana illegal. Soon, prohibition passed and the USA was "SAVED"
from alcohol.
Believers rejoiced. Drug
companies rejoiced. Bankers rejoiced. Politicians rejoiced. Foreign brewers
rejoiced. Investors rejoiced. Law enforcement rejoiced. Criminals rejoiced and they
began dividing up the United States into districts and charging a franchise fee
for those districts. To do what? To sell now illegal whisky!
WHAT HAPPENED?
First, millions and millions
of taxpayer dollars had to be collected and spent by the Federal government,
the state and local governments to enforce this new "law." This new
"law" gave thousands of people employment. But do not forget, under
this law, hundreds of people died, went blind or suffered from alcohol
poisoning by drinking "rot gut whiskey." Thousand of people who just
wanted a drink (which they used to get legally) were jailed. Hundreds were
gunned down in the local streets and businesses, and many of them were innocent
bystanders. Citizens became afraid to walk the streets of their towns at night.
Where only a few bars existed before prohibition, new secret bars and clubs
opened by the thousands all over this country. Crime went crazy! People bought
locks for their doors and bars for their windows. Criminals and their friends became
fantastically RICH! Banks and investment houses did a booming business.
Does any of this sound
familiar to you?
The Capones, Dillingers,
Cohens, Kennedys, Morans, (and many other famous family names), along with law
enforcement officers, little and big crooks, all got very wealthy selling
whisky at bloated prices. Territorial wars broke out. Criminals fought other
criminals in the streets of the USA. Law enforcement broke down as the
criminals could pay them in a month what they would normally make in a year.
Law enforcement lost pride in itself. Law enforcement lost its effectiveness
and worst of all, the enforcement agents of this "law" lost the
respect of the citizens of this country. Soon state and federal senators and
representatives were on the take, along with policemen, judges, lawyers and
politicians. Before long, the criminals had as much power, or more, than the
politician or police. More millions of dollars had to be spent by state and
federal governments. The cost to the taxpayer was enormous.
Making alcohol illegal
caused more deaths PER YEAR than legal alcohol had ever caused in all the previous
fifty-five years. Home and society were disrupted. Crime grew powerful,
wealthy and greedy. The believers and the politicians (with their prohibition
laws) had unleashed a monster upon us. Such a situation is called,
"throwing the baby out with the bath water."
Finally, Clear Thinking
prevailed. Prohibition was repealed and the USA tried to return to the
"good old days." But, we could not return. The damage was
done. The tree was bent crooked, and crooked it stayed. Crime had gotten used
to paying off its supporters, and the supporters had gotten used to BEING paid.
Both the criminals and the crime fighters immediately needed some new form of
prohibition (so they didn't lose their incomes).
Using their new power and
wealth, crime entered big legitimate business and politics. The sons and
daughters of the criminals became business and political powers in this nation.
They were bank rolled by their families and other criminal elements. They ran
for senate seats and won. They ran for state and federal representatives and
won. They had no apologies for telling lies, spreading false rumors and
immorally tricking their less well financed opponents. They even ran their man
for president. Crime money talks!
Immediately upon repeal of
prohibition on alcohol, the crime bosses and politicians began to describe the
evils of recreational drugs. It made no difference whether these drugs were
harmful, helpful or neutral. The concept was taken up by the believers. Soon
the criminal element was gleefully convincing politicians and preachers to get
certain drugs made or kept illegal. They lobbied and convinced believers to
write editorials, preach sermons and work to make and or keep certain drugs
illegal.
It is a proven fact that
common crime in the United States was petty and non-threatening before the
prohibition on alcohol. People didn't even lock their doors. After the
prohibition was lifted, crime was powerful and political, reaching its tendrils
and tentacles into politics, business, banking, stocks, manufacturing, bonds,
law enforcement, commerce, transportation, unions, publishing, international
trade, insurance, commodities, farming, mining, pornography, prostitution,
gambling, garbage collection, restaurants, food distribution, radio, TV,
entertainment and every other legitimate and illegitimate business. Even honest
people before prohibition, were forced into various elements of crime because
of prohibition. Crime expansion grew like kudzu in South Georgia. People began
to install locks and started locking their doors and watching their kids.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH OUR
COUNTRY NOW?
"What is wrong
now," happened between 1919 and 1934 - PROHIBITION! Making alcohol illegal
produced crime that grew and exists today! The tree was bent and today we find
ourselves and our nation crooked indeed. But I have some hope for us! Stay with
me!
It was pointed out by the
finally semi legitimate crime bosses that the Federal government now had a very
strong and usable Federal force built up to enforce the prohibition of alcohol.
They argued, if certain drugs were made or kept illegal, the "Feds"
had an organization all ready in the field to enforce a "NEW PROHIBITION
LAW." If some drugs were not made or kept illegal, then the Fed force
would have to be disbanded and the government would lose millions of taxpayer
dollars - and jobs. They pointed out that the politicians could use this new
cause for votes and everyone would PROFIT from making certain drugs illegal.
Besides, drugs made people crazy and the government needed to protect the
citizens from going crazy. Didn't it?
They didn't mention that
THEY would make billions. Nor, did they mention that along with this NEW
prohibition on drugs would come new crimes unknown before. They didn't mention
the hundreds of BILLIONS of dollars it would cost the federal government (us).
They didn't mention the thousands and thousands of innocent people who would
lose their jobs, their families, their money and their lives. They didn't
mention the FEARS that would ride our streets, our homes, our schools and our
businesses. That would be BAD ADVERTISING. Crime and politics (if there is a
difference) always tries to hide the true facts of their plans and policies
from the public.
The greatest most profitable
agriculture product in the USA from the 1700’s until the 1920’s was hemp
(marijuana). Farmers were encouraged to grow larger and larger acreage of hemp.
Then oil discovered it could produce the same, though inferior, products
(expensively) that hemp was producing (cheaply). Paper Barons bought hundreds
of thousands of acres of pine trees and built pulp wood plants that pollute the
environment, so they could oust the cheaper, better, less polluting hemp paper.
These paper barons spent millions of dollars to propagandize the American
people and to fight to make hemp (marijuana) illegal.
They secretly got the
preachers, believers and politicians to start partitions, preach sermons, write
editorials and in general fan crime's tiny prohibition spark until it finally
became an all-consuming flame. Then they Sneaked it through Congress. One
honest congressman stood in resignation and said, “The Lies have it.”
AND THEY DID IT!
The politicians succumbed to
the endorsements, inducements and propaganda. Certain drugs were not only made
or kept illegal, but a NEW enforcement branch was added to the federal agencies
already in existence. And the taxpayer had to pay and pay and pay some more for
this new extravagant expense.
The gist of the matter is
this. Prohibition produces untold wealth for the criminal element, for those
who work with the criminal element and for those who live off of the criminal
element. And it does the same for those who FIGHT the criminal element. For the
average citizen, prohibition produces fear, loss of innocent life, loss of
their children, loss of money, loss of their self-respect and loss of respect
for our government and law enforcement. In addition to that, prohibition
produces honest patriotic rebels. These rebels are jailed, called ungodly,
un-American, traitors and have the IRS and sometimes the FBI or CIA sicked on
them.
In the last few years, law
enforcement agencies have stumbled upon millions and millions of dollars packed
in cardboard boxes in warehouses and other places. Some of this money has even
gotten moldy and rats have gnawed into it. Some has gotten wet, stuck together
or rotted. The problem with dealing in drugs is, it produces so much cash money
that the money itself becomes a physical problem.
People who laundry crime
money are given as much as HALF of the money in order to make the other half
usable as legitimate business profits. The reason for this is that so many
people have to be paid off to either look the other way or to aid the
transfers. Banks are guilty. Insurance companies are guilty. Import and export
businesses are guilty. The tentacles of crime money reach everywhere.
Where does this money come
from? It comes from kids who steal in order to buy one dollar’s worth of drugs
for which they must pay two hundred dollars. It comes from the grocery money,
the rent money, the shoe money, the car money, the education money and the
insurance money. It comes from the tills of businesses whose employees steal,
embezzle and reroute the money to their own pockets, then it goes into the drug
dealer’s pocket. It comes from dishonest business practices that take money for
service or products that are useless, falsely advertised or never delivered. It
comes from tax money and church money. It comes from electronic items stolen
from your home and mine. And worst of all, it comes from the poor.
This immoral drug
prohibition has corrupted millions of people, thousands of businessmen, and
hundreds of politicians, judges, lawyers, law enforcement personnel and we
could go on for pages.
Will the criminal element
and the misguided religious believers unite in our society to make and keep
certain drugs illegal? YOU BET! In a New York minute!
One of the biggest problems
stemming from the prohibitions of the past and present is that the Morals
of the crime bosses, before long, become the morals of business and government.
These morals (or lack of them) soon become the morals even of the citizens of
this country who, seeing other people get away with it, decide they will play
the game. They stage injuries so, they sue. THEY can now get something for
nothing. Thus, we have the proliferation of lawyers, legal suits in court,
slander suits, injury suits, pain and suffering suits and so forth. ALL of
these things basically stem from the mindset of the criminal. They see an
opportunity to get SOMETHING FOR NOTHING. And WE put up with it!
Did you ever really study
the fine print in warranties, contracts and such? It is almost as though
anything you do saves the issuer of the fine print from any obligation what so
ever to YOU, but nothing that you do voids the contract or your obligation to
them. This is the mindset of business today. Before Prohibition there was some
trust between the buyer and seller. Big transactions were often concluded with
a handshake. People considered their word as their bond. Since prohibition,
there is none of that. Fine print is the criminal mind at work.
The illegality of certain
drugs cost the taxpayers billions and billions of dollars each year. And the
cost is going up. Too many greedy hands are out. The amount of money paid out
by the federal government each year on drug enforcement is absolutely and
unbelievably STAGGERING. There are court cost, jail cost, undercover
operations, surveillance, stings, troops, agents and equipment, some sent to
foreign lands, boats and airplanes, hospital treatment, associated crime
including petty crime, and possibly WAR in the drug supplying countries, and
hundreds of other related costs.
Today we face a take over of
the drug trade by Mexico. They set up large, powerful and profitable
organizations in our big cities that kill, intimidate and induce our state and
federal officials to perform and inform for them. These good Catholic people
hire gangs to enforce their will on the American people. You and I are going to
put a stop to this with our plan.
The believers, the criminals
and the government have forced you and me to believe that the only way to do
away with the drug crimes is to buy more policemen, more airplanes, more boats,
more detection equipment, and in general throw more money at the problem. If
you don't agree with the government, you are a closet druggy, un-American,
ungodly and worthy of being spied on to see why you don't agree with the "good"
efforts of the government. They spy on you. They also want to know if you are
paying your fair share of taxes (which they keep raising). The BELIEVERS and
the CRIMINALS have locked up our future and are destroying our present.
These crime costs do not
include the individual losses to crime, increased insurance cost, increased
taxes, loss of life, bank failures, embezzlements, medical care inflation,
stock market frauds and a multitude of other hidden costs.
One of the worst costs to
the American people is the cost of FEAR! The police even fear walking the
streets of this nation after dark. If the police fear the crime element after
dark, what is to be said for the average citizen? Yes! America fears not only
the night, we also fear the daytime. Why should we put up with this terror? Why
do people fear the criminal elements even in the supposed safety of their own
homes? Because petty crime and white collar crime in this country is fueled by
the HIGH COST OF DRUGS! This crime, and the fear of it, reaches every home in
the USA one way or another. And now they want to prohibit our only home defense
and protection by taking our dogs and our guns away from us. Can you say,
"TYRANNY?"
Not only are the citizens of
this country afraid of the criminal element, we are now afraid of OUR OWN LAW
ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES. Innocent people have their doors kicked out and law
enforcement agents swarm into their homes with swat teams IN THE DEAD OF NIGHT.
Some innocent people have been murdered by our law enforcement agencies. The drug
laws are now used to intimidate decent citizens and many non-drug users have
had law enforcement actually PLANT drugs in their homes so they could be
arrested. You see they were vocal against some local politician, agency or
authority, or someone wanted to steal their property.
Any drug addict will tell
you, it doesn't matter what he has to do to get the money for the drugs. He
will get it legally, illegally or any other way, just so long as he gets the
money to get the drugs. Some have even sold their own children (or stolen and
sold other people’s children or pets) to get the money to get the drugs.
Another item to remember is
this. Most drug addicts hate their dependency on drugs. But, they cannot afford
the treatment necessary. They must fear the social stigma (for themselves,
their jobs and their families). They also fear criminal prosecution if they
seek the treatment.
Absolutely nothing good can
be truthfully said about making any drug illegal without counting hundreds of
reasons why ALL drugs should be legal.
Now, CONTROL of a drug is
absolutely necessary when making a drug legal. Many people either misunderstand
or misrepresent the concept of making a drug legal. Some think that means one
can go into a grocery store and buy a hard drug as one would buy a bottle of
beer, a carton of cigarettes or a bottle of aspirin. Up until 1919, a child
could walk into a drugstore and buy cocaine cough drops or codeine medicines.
Where was their drug problem? They had none because drugs were legal and no
more profitable than selling dog food. However, this freedom will never happen
again and probably never should happen.
In my opinion, (which I have
researched) here is what needs to be done. First, drugs used for so called
recreational purposes must be divided into groups according to their
addictedness, their danger to health, their danger to society, and their value
for purposes other than recreation. I am not a chemist, doctor or scientist, so
my knowledge is general and relates only to what can be found out from general
research and medical publications on the various drugs, law enforcement, cost
and related subjects. I am not a user of these drugs. But, I have long since
learned how to determine the difference between reading facts and reading
propaganda put out by those who are in favor of something, or against
something.
If I were dividing the
drugs, I would place the hallucinogenic and acid drugs together in one
category. Then the poppy and coca drugs should be placed together and the
marijuana and Silva types in yet a separate category.
Now, let us use some logic
and Clear Thinking on this drug problem. Almost all the acid drugs can be
manufactured in the average home from easy to acquire chemicals if one is a
chemist or knows how. (You can go to any good library and find the formulas for
these). All the poppy and coca drugs can be manufactured in a small space, but
the raw material is basically not grown in the United States. It must be
imported. The marijuana plant can be grown almost any place in the USA.
The acid drugs are extremely
dangerous to health and can very easily cause death, insanity and replace
reality with a believable non-reality. They are not necessarily addictive, but
their effect is accumulative. That is, the body does not rid itself quickly of
these drugs but stores them in the tissues of the body. So, one who uses these
acids can easily take a lethal or insane producing dosage even though the last
dose was no more than the next to last dose.
In addition to this, at any
time, the tissues of the body can release enough of the drug back into
circulation to produce an instant high. This is called a flash back. These
flash backs can cause accidents, anti social behavior, "pink
elephants," hostility, social embarrassments and worst of all, DEATH, both
to the users themselves and to others.
The poppy and coca drugs
must be rated according to their refinement. Think of the refinement of
alcohol. The more sugar added to the vat, the more care, selection and aging,
the higher the alcohol content. The product can be further refined by
distilling. A twelve proof wine can be raised by repeated distilling, until it
is nearly two hundred proof (or, pure alcohol).
Such is the case with the
poppy and coca drugs. Lightly refined poppy and coca drugs should be classified
along with the marijuana types. Why do people not use these lightly refined
drugs? Because, no one will make them! Since the danger of making and selling
lightly refined drugs is the same as that for highly refined drugs, why waste
the effort when the highly refined drugs are addictive (producing constant
customers) and the lightly refined ones are not addictive. All highly
refined poppy and coca drugs are addictive. These addictive drugs pose more
of a criminal problem because the cost is so high and more of a health problem
because of the addiction. These drugs, if taken in full strength, or with other
drugs such as alcohol or acid can quickly cause death.
WHY DO PEOPLE USE THESE
DRUGS?
First, there is the high.
People who do not use drugs do not know what high means. It means first, a
powerful sexual feeling. It is also called euphoria. In fact, some people can
only have intercourse and an orgasm or enjoy sex if they have first taken a
coca, poppy or similar drug. Others, who take these drugs on a regular basis,
find the sexual excitement and orgasm (with no other person or with no personal
physical self stimulation) is better than sex with a partner without the drug.
Next, there is the mental
and physical stimulation people get from these drugs. Some people find they can
think faster, more clearly and finish a task faster under the influence of the
coca drugs and sometimes the poppy drugs, if taken in small quantities.
One of the problems is that
with extended use, one must use more of the drug just to think and feel normal.
Another problem is that with both the poppy and coca drugs, reason and
rationality becomes impaired. What that means is this. They can work a math
problem faster but their moral judgment is impaired and they cannot make sound moral
judgments. Right and wrong all becomes "gray." A third problem is the
unbelievable high cost of these drugs. Fourth, as the drug wears off their
mental and physical dexterity deteriorates rapidly. Since their judgment is
also impaired, they will drive too fast, get irritated easily, do too many
things by impulse, become argumentative or hostile, become paranoid, and have
other dangerous and harmful actions and reactions.
I do not mean to imply that
these drugs are harmless. They are NOT. Neither, do I mean to say that these
drugs should be handed out to anyone who asks for them. What I am saying is, we
need to keep our eyes on the goal of eliminating seventy-five percent of the
crime in our country. We need to foster better health, eliminate our fears and
produce more freedom for everyone, not to mention save countless individuals
from death and drugs. And, in the bargain we can save the taxpayers billions
and billions of dollars each and every year (that is you and me, my friends).
When a forest fire of
destructive size breaks out, what is the best line of defense used by fire
fighters? They light another controlled fire called a backfire. They do this to
destroy the fuel that the fire needs to continue on its destructive
path. Generally speaking, backfires work and give the fire fighters a chance to
bring the main destructive fire under control.
Our drug problem and related
crime is an out of control forest fire, which is threatening the very fabric,
and existence of the American civilization. If it is not corrected and brought
under control soon we may cease to exist as a Republic and find ourselves under
the feet of a dictator who will promise to rid our streets of crime. The
believers will support him. And he will still fail but he will succeed in
removing the last vestiges of our freedoms from us!
IS THE LOSS OF OUR FREEDOMS
WHAT WE WANT?
My vote and voice says, NO!
Instead of losing our
freedoms, let us use the little freedom and common sense we now have. Couple our
desire for freedom from crime and drugs with some common sense and we can build
our backfire and bring the spread of the criminal element in this country under
control.
I once heard a comedian (I
believe it was Brother Dave) who said he had a plan to eliminate all crime in
the USA. When asked what the plan was, he said, "Make it legal and tax
it." That was years ago. After a few chuckles, the more I thought about it
the more it began to ring true.
I haven't said much about
marijuana yet. The reason I have saved it for last is because marijuana is our
backfire. Marijuana can save us from the crime and cost that has become
associated with drugs in this country. Just look at what marijuana can do for
us in our fight against the hard drugs, crime and the unbelievable cost of
these drugs and crime. And don't forget our Morals.
01. Marijuana will basically
do for the user (in a milder form) what the poppy and coca drugs will do.
02. Marijuana is not
biologically addictive.
03. Its effect dissipates from
the body as fast or faster than alcohol.
04. There is no hangover
tomorrow from its use.
05. It is cheap, will grow
anywhere and is no more expensive to grow than flowers or tomatoes.
06. It places nitrogen into
the soil, thus to grow marijuana, is to enrich the soil.
07. The seeds have long been
a mainstay for animal, bird and fowl food.
08. Marijuana is not
accumulative in the body. An occasional user will lose all traces in a week
(except in his hair and nails). A regular user will be totally free of any
effects in a couple of days and lose all chemical traces from his body in forty
days or less.
09. On a commercial basis,
marijuana is known as hemp and is perfect for making strong rope, bags, tents,
tough cloth, sails, baskets and containers of many types. It makes the best
tough, long lasting work pants and shirts in the world.
10. A pinch of marijuana
ingested, is one of the best painkillers for those who need to sublimate the
pain so that they may be able to accomplish some task for themselves or their
company without the pain.
11. For people with glaucoma
of their eyes, it tends to clear the vision and slows or corrects the
condition.
12. Marijuana will soften
one's aggressiveness and hostility and make a user more social and agreeable.
13. For those being treated
for cancer with chemotherapy, marijuana enables the patient to reduce the pain
of the cancer and to keep food on their stomach without being so nauseous. Nothing else known will do
this without harmful side affects.
14. Marijuana is ideal for
treating anorexia because it calms the nervous system and produces an appetite
and eliminates nausea.
15. A pinch of marijuana
before bedtime serves as the best harmless sleeping pill one can have.
16. Marijuana enables people
who are very shy to navigate in society without the associated fear of people.
17. It drastically reduces
arthritic pain.
18. Marijuana may be either
smoked or ingested.
19. It is a mild
tranquilizer. A tiny pinch of Marijuana ingested will relax a nervous person
without any known impairment of mental or physical functions.
20. Ingested, marijuana acts
as a bowel stimulant and will keep a person regular.
21. It produces more oxygen
while growing than any other known land plant.
22. Marijuana is to the land
what plankton is to the sea. It is the best most versatile plant on earth. And
what have we done to this wonderful plant God has so graciously given to us?
You guessed it. WE OUTLAWED MARIJUANA! Marijuana is one of the only two plants in
the world, which has male and female plants. Could it have come to us from a
divine source? Did it come from some other planet? Is it a gift?
23. Marijuana makes the best
cheapest and best paper known. Paper made with marijuana lasts longer, is
tougher, stays whiter longer and it repels insects. Did you know only flax or
marijuana (hemp) is used to make cigarette papers? All high quality coffee
filters and filters for machinery are made from the marijuana plant. And guess
what? If you have a Bible with thin, tough, long lasting, expensive paper, it
is made from the marijuana plant. Think about that when you next thump your
Bible.
Did you know our Constitution was originally written on Marijuana paper?
24. Marijuana is the fastest
growing, annually renewable plant, and that includes kudzu.
25. An acre of marijuana
will produce many times the weight of paper that an acre of pine will produce
and do it every year. And each year the yield of marijuana goes up because it
enriches the soil while pine depletes the soil. Want to save some trees?
26. Marijuana seeds have one
of the highest beneficial protein counts of all the known seeds. As an animal
or human supplement food, it cannot be beat. It is rich in minerals and
vitamins.
If you take supplements, you are most likely ingesting some marijuana.
27. It is disease and insect
resistant.
28. Marijuana has a long
history that even goes beyond beer and wine.
29. Every major civilization
of the past has used marijuana for commercial products, medicine and
recreation.
30. There is no record or
indication (until now) that wars were ever fought over marijuana, as has been
the case of beer, wine, whisky, poppy and coca drugs as well as tobacco and
lumber.
31. Marijuana produces the
highest quality oils used in cosmetics, paints, medicines and lubricants for tiny
instruments and for big ones.
32. It makes refreshing
houseplants, removes odors and adds beauty and oxygen to the air.
33. Ascetically, it is a
beautiful, fiery green plant that adds beauty to one's yard or garden.
34. It protects other plants
by repelling insects from neighboring plants.
35. Use of tobacco, alcohol
and other drugs DECLINE when marijuana is available and used. That is a known statistical
fact.
36. Marijuana (when
available) absolutely DOES NOT led to the use of other hard drugs. In fact, it
does just the opposite. Marijuana reduces the consumption of the hard
drugs, alcohol and tobacco. People who use marijuana generally do not want to
use the hard drugs. Ask your doctor and maybe he will tell you the truth. Diet pills,
Darvon and other prescribed drugs DO lead to the other hard drugs. Marijuana
does not!
There is no
record of anyone dying from using only marijuana.
Alcohol, tobacco
and hard drugs are the killers.
These thirty-six statements
are just a few of the reasons why we should consider marijuana in a truthful
and honest light. Marijuana is a plant that should be grown everywhere for the
sake of the air we breath, the trees we could save, the animals we could feed
cheaply, the food we eat, the rope and commodities we can make, the paper we
use, the clothes we wear, the chemicals we use, the soil we wish to enrich, the
crime we hope to escape, the accidents we hope to avoid, the tensions we wish
to relieve and the recreation for which we hope. Marijuana is the best
protection from soil erosion and mudslides known since its roots run strongly though
the soil. And let's not forget the billions and billions of tax dollars we can
save and use for more useful purposes.
Disregarding the
recreational use of marijuana, it is one of the most versatile and valuable
plants on this planet. If I were religious, I would say it is one of the
greatest natural gifts that God ever gave to mankind.
Well, everything has a down
side. What is the down side of using marijuana for recreational purposes? Like
alcohol, one should not drive, operate machinery, or make important decisions
while under the immediate influence of marijuana (about two or so hours). There
is the loss of short-term memory for the occasional users while under the
influence (again, about two hours). Long-term users will have sluggishness of
memory and sometimes, (in some) it will produce forgetfulness. Poor
concentration is expected during use if one takes it by smoking. Some say that
smoking marijuana (from a health stand point) is about equal to four or five
cigarettes. Others say it is no worse than the same amount of tobacco. But all
will pay a whopping high price for a few leaves or buds of this plant.
Contrary to some government
and religious spokesmen, marijuana does not "fry the brain." In fact,
it does much less harm than alcohol does to the system. Some research
has hinted that marijuana offers relief of the prostrate and its symptoms and
may be valuable in that area. It also activates the kidneys and therefore, cleanses
the blood faster. Marijuana has been the best treatment for thousands of years
for epilepsy problems and even today is better than any other drug treatment.
There is no better pain relief for multiple sclerosis and its terrible muscle
cramps than marijuana. But the criminals, believers and politicians outlawed
marijuana.
Now we will come to the
point. Here is my plan to rid our cities and country side of seventy-five
percent of our crime, return our streets to the citizens of our country,
eliminate the fear which permeates the public and save us billions on billions
of dollars and thousands and thousands of lives.
01. Do with marijuana what
we have done with beer, wine and tobacco. Let anyone who so wishes grow his
own. Certainly, there needs to be rules. No more than two or three mature
plants per adult in the household at any one time. No selling to others, etc.
02. Let the tobacco
companies grow, process and sell it as is done with tobacco and alcohol.
03. Use the same rules on
federal, state and local taxes as are done with tobacco.
04. Use the same safety laws
and rules on marijuana as is used with alcohol.
05. Have education on
marijuana as is now done with alcohol.
06. This will reduce the
price of marijuana from two hundred plus dollars to about the same price as
tobacco.
07. Clear our jails of
casual users, but not the dealers.
One item we MUST NOT
overlook is this. Marijuana is bulky, hard to hide, hard to transport, hard to
keep secret where it is grown and needs to be somewhat fresh.
Criminals can carry
thousands of dollars worth of the coca or poppy drugs in their pocket, while a
wheelbarrow or pickup truck would be necessary to carry half that dollar amount
of marijuana.
I have been told you can get
the poppy or coca drugs on a fourth of the street corners of our big cities.
But if you want marijuana, arrangements must be made in advance and great
additional risks face both the criminal dealer and user. If you were a drug
dealer, would you deal in poppy and coca products or the bulky easy to spot
marijuana, especially, when the penalties are about the same?
There are thousands of
people using the expensive, addictive poppy and coca drugs simply because it is
much more risky and difficult to obtain marijuana!
So, to completely
legalize marijuana would immediately cut off billions of dollars from the poppy
and coca trade. In addition, the price of these hard drugs would drop
drastically, there by, lessening the need for users to resort to thefts and
other crimes to finance their uses of it.
With marijuana legal, a
large portion of our crime will instantly disappear and many hard drug
users may soon become gardeners and solid citizens.
Now we must turn our
attention to the poppy and coca drugs. So far, we have reduced both the cost
and the distribution of these addictive drugs by legalizing marijuana.
Next, we must take the profit
out of these hard drugs. How do we do that? I am glad you asked. Don't forget,
we have billions and billions and billions of dollars to use that are now being
wasted in hundreds and hundreds of ways trying to fight the drugs and drug
dealers head on.
Let us try some end runs and
some passes over the dealer's heads. First, we legalize the drugs. (That means
we decriminalize the possession and use of these drugs and make treatment
available and legal.) Clear our jails of casual users. Institute a detoxification
system in our cities that one may attend without stigma or reprisal. Then
we:
01. Go where the stuff is
grown and buy it. Hire farmers in other countries to grow the poppy and cocoa
plants. Out bid the dealers. We wouldn't have to do this but two or three
times. There might be a fight at first, but when the dealers see that we mean
to do this, they will back off or die defending their farms and pipelines.
Either way, we win.
02. Bring the raw stuff back
to the states and process it in a sanitary and controlled environment. Make
more lightly refined product and less of the highly refined.
03. Sell it through state
owned distribution centers, drug stores, or out patient clinics - BY
PRESCRIPTION.
04. This means the patient
(addict) must consult a doctor who may also counsel or advise the patient on
the best method of ridding himself of the habit. Also, he might suggest
marijuana to them as a substitute that can help relieve the addict's pain while
trying to stop his addiction to the hard drugs. Insurance companies should be
happy because their crime and medical cost will drop drastically to offset any
additional treatment cost to them.
05. Set up emergency clinics
where the addict can get the stuff for a cheap price if he signs to see a
doctor later.
06. Set up a computer hot
line so doctors can cross check and see that the patient is not seeing others
to get the drugs.
07. Establish farms where
kids in drug trouble or from blighted areas can sign up (or, be assigned). They
would get some pay, but they also get much more. They get drug treatment,
counseling, education, room and board, sports, skill, craft training and
entertainment. There should be libraries, computers and moral training (but not
religious instruction). This will pay off in lower crime, more useful people
and we can do it with a very small portion of the tax money we save from
fighting the useless drug war.
08. Produce and products
from the farms could pay some of the expenses.
09. After some period of
time they could get leave, trips to important places and be instructed in
business as they complete their courses. Businesses should be encouraged to
hire them. After all, many of these kids are very bright. They are just dumb
and ignorant of the social and educational skills. These camps and schools will
instruct the kids in these skills.
10. Dealers could turn
themselves in, accept counseling, rehabilitation, serve some time and go on
probation. Those who sought to escape or continue selling would be put in jail
and kept there.
11. Family and close friends
who do not cooperate in exposing dealers, should be classified as accomplices
and be jailed as examples to others.
12. Now, we attack the money
pipeline. Anyone found laundering money for the dealers should be stripped of
their citizenship and deported, fined or jailed or any combination thereof.
13. Off shore banking must
be reported by banks in the USA. If not, the Chairman of the Board and the
President of that bank, or CEO shall be charged as accomplices along with any
others involved.
14. Any large money order
(say $5000 or more), travelers’ check or cashier's check must be reported if
the check or money order is assigned to over seas recipients or cashed in
foreign banks.
15. Houses, boats, cars or
other high priced items, bought with cash, must be reported.
16. Credit card use of five
thousand dollars or more payable to over seas accounts or businesses must be
reported.
17. Banks with over seas
connections must report large money transfers or face criminal charges.
18. Auditors found to be in
collusion with banks, financial houses and such shall go to jail under a stiff penalty
law.
19. Over-seas businesses
owned by US residents shall submit their over seas banking records or be
refused the privilege of transferring their profits to or from US banks.
20. Cash deposits of ten
thousand dollars or more must be reported by banks, brokers and financial
institutions.
21. From time to time, the
treasure department shall change our money so large sums of hoarded money must
be exchanged or totally lost.
22. All depositors shall be
fingerprinted. Anyone set of prints showing more than two bank accounts, shall
be investigated, and must justify the extra accounts.
23. The classification of a
dealer must not include the person who gets a little for his friends. But, it
should include anyone who receives drugs in bulk (say, $2000 worth or more per
month at the now reduced prices).
Let me stop and commit on
these drastic steps. Many of these items are already in place, but only
for the convenience of the IRS. Also, I would suggest, they would only be on
the law books and enforced for five years or so and not renewable for another
five years after the original laws have expired. After all, we don't want to
lose our freedoms, so any of these items passed by the government must have a
built in limitation of time with no renewal possible for five years. With our
other steps in progress, that limited period would be enough time to make the
dealers run for cover. In five or so years, the American people would own their
country and their streets again.
Such measures will
inconvenience the financial institutions, but compliance would make laundering
money very difficult and costly. I also realize, the financial institutions and
dealers would soon find ways to circumvent the process and laundering money
would not totally dry up. But, enough financial institutions and businesses
would suffer the penalties that, selling drugs and laundering money would
become secondary to trying to use some of the money they all ready have.
I have no objection to any
one being rich. I do object if that wealth is the result of their crimes, their
dishonesty, or if their wealth was taken from innocent people, or the poor who
cannot afford it.
Our crime situation is
growing like kudzu on an abandoned South Georgia farm. What are we going to do
about it? Strong-arm tactics that are being used today will only destroy our
freedoms and corrupt more law enforcement and judicial agents. Are we going to
continue corrupting and destroying our government, our law enforcement people,
our economy, our families and ourselves? Are we going to continue to meet these
crime waves head on and continue to LOSE EVERYTHING, as we are doing today?
The ultimate result of our
present course of wasteful action against crime and drugs will result in the
loss of the very thing that makes America different from the rest of the world.
OUR FREEDOMS! Americans are called CITIZENS. In most other countries, the
people are called subjects, populous, consumers or natives.
All ready, the believers who
run businesses in this country are demonstrating their dictatorial and
pietistic attitude toward the rest of us by taking hair samples and drug test
of their employees. And they are spying on their employees. They do this so
they can build the employees' drug history from their hair. This is blackmail.
These believers use their economic and political positions of power to hold
America hostage to their antiquated arrogant concept that they have heard from
the Almighty and THEY KNOW BEST. All we have to do to see if they do know best
is to read our newspaper listen to the radio and watch TV. If their beliefs
were correct, then our civilization would not be in such terror and depravity.
If we don't do some of the
things I have outlined here, the situation will just get worse, more costly,
and more depraved and WE TOO may soon be called subjects and have OUR doors
kicked in at 3 am.
Besides, doing more of the
same, as we are doing now, the next big step will be the loss of many more of
our freedoms. Then, when that fails, a bona fide dictatorship, or something
that closely resembles it, will come to us with promises to clear our streets,
suppress crime and stop all the neighborhood problems and wars. Big Brother
will have arrived at last! AND I DON'T LIKE THAT! And who will be supporting
and encouraging the take over of ALL of our freedoms? You guessed it. The
criminals and the Believers who will want MORE PROHIBITIONS on MORE and MORE
things.
We see that much of our
crime is actually caused by those well meaning but misinformed people who would
withhold part of the cure and protection that we could have in our fight
against this costly tragedy of drugs in our nation. They insist on keeping
marijuana illegal. Those who would classify marijuana as illegal (and a sin)
are stealing the future from themselves and from you and me. But, worst of all,
they are stealing a safe, secure, and productive life from their own children
and grand children.
If some of our religious
people will stop and think logically for a moment, they will see that their
religion and their God would have us fight crime and drugs with common sense
(not dogs, guns, clubs and jails). Common sense will produce success for all of
us. Certainly, the misuse of drugs is wrong! But then, so is the misuse of
automobiles, kitchen knives, or any thing else. We don't prohibit kitchen
knives because someone misuses one to cut up someone else. Let us face our
problems like adults, put away ancient childish thoughts and rules, and stop
destroying our civilization and our future.
Don't forget. It was the
poppy drug that was used by the British to conquer China. Don't let this happen
to America. Maybe I should say, "Don't let it continue to happen in the
United States of America. Wake up!"
In the whole world, the USA
has the highest percentage of its citizens in jail, mostly for drug use and
drug possession.
The nation with the least
per capital crime in the civilized world is Holland. How do they handle drugs
and drug crimes? I am glad you asked that question, too. They LEGALIZED
MARIJUANA and the US government actually brings pressure to bare on them for
not doing like we are doing. Not only is their crime rate the lowest, they also
have the least per capital deaths from accidents, murder and such and their
ratio of longevity is very high. People live longer in Holland than in most
other countries. Holland is also a religious country, but their leaders saw the
problem, saw the solutions and put them in to practice. It does work! If it
works for Holland, then it will work for the United States of America.
If I were religious, I would
say, marijuana is one of the greatest natural gifts God ever gave to this
earth. I just hope He also gave us enough wisdom to use marijuana as a
weapon against hard drugs and crime and to use it wisely and properly.
Big Brother is now riding
high and fast on the crest of the drug war and related crime problems, and
getting rich, I might add. Why don't we put a STOP to all this foolishness and
light our backfire? Legalize marijuana and let us begin to take the money and
crime out of hard drugs. Please!!! Give us back our streets! Give our kids a
safe opportunity to live the
AMERICAN DREAM!!!
LET'S DO IT!!!
LET US LIGHT OUR BACKFIRE!
