One thing you need to keep in mind as you read these articles is that:

Atheism is not against spiritual and moral growth of the individual. In fact, Atheists are more spiritual than are the religious. They are more concerned with justice, honesty, integrity and personal development of the universal powers available to each individual than are the religious. The religious look outside of themselves for spirituality, while the Atheists look inside of themselves for the universal guidance that produces spiritual growth. Atheism is simply the first step toward true spirituality. Religion is a dead end on our trip through this life. Atheism is the escape from the trap of religion and paves the way toward a personal relationship with ourselves and with the spiritual realities of our life and the purpose for which we are here. Atheism is simply our advanced address at this stage of our lives. Our next address will be a fully human being. In other words, we must learn to be human, then we must become a full being.

What Atheism is against is the cul-de-sacs of the religions, which make the individual dependant on their particular denominational formulas and plans to achieve personal spiritual and moral development. Spiritual and moral development is the personal responsibility of the individual and it cannot be accomplished by believing some absurdity or by believing in some plan of a divinely imposed redemption. Morality and spirituality is the process of honest personal introspection and rationality. True morality and spirituality is a rational growth process not a religious denominational process.

You may now begin to think!

Inside these pages, you will find common sense at work. You will find the answers to questions you were afraid to ask. You will find a new source of help with your thinking. You will find that Atheists are the most moral segment of our society today. In addition, you will be confounded by the simple activity of thinking. There is only one way to honestly find the truth about any subject. That way is to learn the beginning step. Here is a secret for you.

All children know this step. They are born with it. That step is to ask the simple question,

"WHY?"

Very early children have this learning tool stripped from their grasp.

How do we do that? We say,

"Because I said so!"

Nothing is more harmful to the human species than that simple statement, "Because I said so!" Soon the kids go to school and woe to any kid who uses his head and does some research on his own and finds the teacher in error on some matter. She counters with the same idea, which the kids know well by now. "The text book says so." You and I both know that textbooks are written by people, most of who wish to get some personal political, religious or philosophical point across besides the subject matter.

Soon the kids go to church and they hear statements and claims that their minds cannot handle. They hear claims that are unrealistic, unsupported and unbelievable. These claims are defended by quoting the book. The kids are told that they must NOT think about these claims. They are told that the claims are true and they must believe them (all of them). In short, they are told that they must believe these claims because these claims are “in the book” and the authority standing high above them said so.

By this time, the kids no longer possess the first step to truth. It has been forced out of them. They have forgotten how, or they are afraid to ask, "WHY?"

So, the kids are asked to believe what they are told. Gone forever from their minds (in most cases) is the most valuable learning step. To ask the question, "WHY?" has now become a terrible, terrible RELIGIOUS SIN!

GUESS WHAT QUESTION I AM GOING TO ASK?

You got that right. My question is: WHY?

Inside these pages, you will find the answers to that question and many more, which you worried about but were afraid to ask about. You don't have to worry about the questions or answers any longer. I will answer many of them and others you will find for yourself. You can then simply think about it.

No Just God could condemn your Honest Search and

There are many secrets uncovered in this book (HMP) which mainstream Christianity (and indeed, all of religion) would rather you not know.

In the past, men have been beheaded, burned at the stake, and placed in prisons worse than death because they knew these facts and told others about them. In modern days, the censorship of religion and government has taken the freedom and income of many who tried to reveal these things.

Only in the area of advanced scholarship were these revelations and secrets allowed to be found in print and that information had to be couched in philosophical and theological terms that most people are at a loss to understand.

Now I have clarified these things for you and they are yours for the reading of them in this book.

I have taken some of these advanced scholarly studies of the past and present and placed them in terms and language that any functional high school student can read and understand. Since I am an older man, I have written without fear of the terrors of religious fanaticism or governmental intervention.

It is not important that you agree with me.

It is only important that you understand what I have said. It is up to you to both study these things and THINK about them. The core part of this book was actually written between 1981 and 1989. I have been amazed at how prophetic that earlier work was. This book has been updated but I have left many earlier parts in the text just to show you that the events happening today were showing their heads even back in 1980’s.

There are great personal rewards in discovering the TRUTH about any subject. But, the contentment and joy of learning the truth about these religious and philosophical matters cannot be compared to anything else. The freedom, the cleansing of the mind and the emotional understanding that comes with this knowledge is known by a few only.

I urge you to read the first six chapters of Honest Man’s Philosophy in sequences so you may understand the remaining chapters because much of the information and conclusions of the later chapters depends on your knowing the contents of the first six chapters. You may choose to read the articles first or the book, but read all of this website. You will be glad that you did.
